From the fantastic swimming pools, to the colorful, giant Disney characters you'll find throughout this resort…. it's a family Disney Holiday delight. Also some room photos and food courtroom recommendations.
Every bit frequent visitors of Walt Disney World, my family has had the opportunity to stay at nearly all of the Value Resorts. I'm a pretty strong advocate for staying at a Disney Earth Resort, and the Value Resorts offer the most affordable choice for doing so. Art of Animation is the newest, and arguable best, of the pack. However, most of the rooms are family suites, with a higher price tag.
But look! If you don't need that actress space, there is one wing of standard rooms with the more than typical value pricing – the "Little Mermaid" fly. We recently stayed in a Art of Blitheness Little Mermaid room, and were thrilled to cheque out the larger than life Disney resort theming.
Art of Animation Little Mermaid Rooms – Volume Early on
The Lilliputian Mermaid rooms fill up up speedily, so it's good to reserve i as presently as you know your potential dates. Disney is corking about changes, and you lot tin alter or cancel your reservation without penalty upwards until 31 days in advance. Cancellations made 30 days to 2 days prior to arrival have a fee of $200 per package.
It's worth noting that to date, this type of room has always been excluded from any money saving "Special Offers" that Disney runs. The Art of Blitheness family suites are oftentimes included, but not the Trivial Mermaid rooms. Simply be prepared to pay the quoted rack rate for your dates when y'all book.
This is a new, extremely popular Disney Value Resort. To stay here, you either take to pay either $161/night (regular room, lowest rate, varies with season) or $358/night (family suite). Same pools, aforementioned dining, aforementioned resort amenities, same awesome atmosphere. Needless to say… in spite of being excluded from Disney Special Offers, the Little Mermaid rooms are in high demand.
Art of Animation Foyer
At the Art of Animation main anteroom archway, the outset thing you may discover is the Finding Nemo art drawing boards. So this kicked things off in an engaging, fun way for my 6 year former son. Plus, it provided an appropriate Disney animation souvenir to take abode.
One of my favorite aspects of staying at a Disney Value Resort is the sense of whimsy. Larger than life characters abound, colorful vestibule areas greet you with cheer, and a larger-than-others quick service cafeteria is nearby.
Art of Animation was no exception, and has in my opinion surpassed them all. As a child of the eighty's, I'chiliad a sucker for rainbow decor! Spotting blitheness and identifying which corresponding Disney motion-picture show it came from is an entertaining pastime in this expanse.
Little Mermaid Rooms – Location
Getting to your Little Mermaid rooms is a bit of a trek. They are located in the the uttermost section from the Art of Animation lobby, food court, and Disney bus transportation. Most times you'll exist walking through the entire King of beasts King area to achieve your destination.
We were mentally prepared for this equally office of the cost paid to stay in a Little Mermaid room. Being the but wing featuring affordable standard family rooms (vs. family suites), it was worth information technology to u.s..
There'south an interactive playground of sorts in the Lion King area, which the kids loved climbing on as nosotros journeyed through. Then the extra walk never really felt similar a burden.

Little Mermaid Rooms – Civilities, Design, & Decor
We found a fairly typical Disney Value Resort caliber room upon our inflow. But although it'due south non fancy (my biggest pain bespeak is no coffee maker in the room), the Lilliputian Mermaid rooms are super fun. Each room does include a mini refrigerator, which is handy.
Again, Disney has done a fabulously impressive job of theming. My kids absolutely loved special touches like seashell chairs, baby seahorses hovering around a lighted bubble on the bed headboards, and an octopus wall hanger.
Our favorite part? The bath is Ariel'south special grotto! When yous take a shower, you'll discover the nether-the-body of water, subconscious treasures she has stashed. [I won't spoil it with a photo… you lot'll take to stay here to find out!]
The behemothic, colorful characters institute in the outdoor courtyard of the Lilliputian Mermaid section are scenic. They are some of the best found in the entire resort, and nosotros loved how this is a fairly quiet surface area. Nosotros enjoyed wandering effectually to discover our favorite mementos from the picture. Yep, in that location'due south a dinglehopper.
Food Courtroom Dining Options
When you stay at a Disney Value Resort, that means no "tabular array service" (waitress serving y'all) restaurant on site. This is not a big loss, in my book. We typically take made tabular array service reservations (ADRs) at our favorite Disney restaurants ahead of time, such equally'Ohana andChef Mickey's.
My family unit actually loves the Value Resorts considering their "quick service" cafeteria style restaurants are larger than those establish at Disney Moderate or Deluxe Resorts.
We ate two good meals at Art of Animation's food courtroom, the Landscape of Flavors. The tasty pulled pork sandwich is my superlative recommendation. And salve room for the fresh gelato! Snacks and drinks are also served adjacent to the Finding Nemo Big Blue pool, at the Drop Off Pool Bar.
TravelingMom Tip: You lot can too use your refillable mugs at the Drop Off Pool Bar, which is handy! We brought our mugs along to the pool for costless drinks while we swam.
Big Blueish Pool
And final, but certainly non least, the amazing Art of Blitheness swimming pools!
It was a Disney vacation first for my family. Our offset holiday solar day was no-tickets, no-Parks fourth dimension. This strategy was surprisingly relaxing. The kids were incredibly excited to exercise what they always want to do well-nigh… SWIM! We arrived around lunchtime, then nosotros grabbed some food at the Landscape of Flavors cafeteria and and so headed direct to check out the pools.
Nosotros spent the first 1 to 2 hours at the Finding Nemo Big Blue Puddle. This pool is the largest single water tank pool at Walt Disney World. At that place's definitely enough of space to hang out and enjoy a sunny Florida day. My kids reported non-Disney, however tropical blazon music playing underwater. My youngest loved the splash pad water features.
Life jackets are on hand and complimentary for kids to use, which I always appreciate. We brought our refillable mugs and filled them several times at the Drop Off Puddle Bar.
Although fun, this is too the virtually crowded puddle at Fine art of Blitheness resort. So after a bit, we moved to what ended up being our favorite pond pool: the Cozy Cone pool.
Cozy Cone Puddle
Entering the Cars section is like walking into a mini Radiator Springs. It's the next all-time affair to visiting Carsland at Disney California Adventure Park!
And then information technology wasn't a surprise that this turned out to be our favorite pool at Art of Blitheness Resort. The Cozy Cone pool was much less crowded.
Happy discovery: the cones are actually cabanas! Cone cabanas are free to use, available first-come-showtime-served. Nosotros visited during a moderately busy Disney World flavour (stop of April), and had no trouble snagging one in the center of the afternoon. Several cabanas were vacant.
A Stay at Little Mermaid Rooms… And then Worthwhile
Yes, this beautiful new Disney World resort is in the Value Resort category. As such, you'll notice some missing luxuries yous'll find at the Moderate or Palatial Resorts. No coffee maker in the room, hot tubs, puddle towel service, or water slide. No "sit down" table service dining.
Totally worth it.
Seriously, if you are bringing kids to Disney… Value Resorts are absolutely the most fun places to stay! That's my stance. Actually, my favorite combination has become splitting our Disney Resort stay between a Value Resort, then often moving to a petty more comfy Moderate or Deluxe Resort.
My family loved our stay at the Little Mermaid rooms, and volition definitely return to Art of Animation Resort.
